I am part German, my grandmother was full German and lived on the Rhine River most of her life. She used to sing Silent Night to us every Christmas Eve. The only German song I learned in my youth was called Schnitzelbank.

"Named after an old German folk song, "schnitzelbank" is the German word for woodworker's bench, Dill explained. In Germany, the song had a number of tongue-twisting verses and was popular as a drinking song."
