I thought the same thing, til I realized that I don't have to believe anything.

God, the Father, God the Son or Jesus Christ Our Lord and God, the Holy Spirit or God, the Holy Ghost comprise the three Persons in the Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Holy Trinity can be explained in this very simple way. Imagine and take the American Flag and fold it into three parts. Now, how many flags do you have? Only one, right?
This is not a confusing issue at all. Although it's true that there's a lot of religious issues that are beyond human understanding and comprehension.

God is a title; not a specific being (in most cases). There are multiple (ballpark about 10) Hebrew words that translate as 'God' in English. The easiest way I currently know of, is to think of 'God' as a team. Thus, there can easily be God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Ghost (i.e. the trinity).

This whole thing is just a ridiculous edifice errected when some in the early church claimed that Jesus himself was divine while others claimed that to do so was to commit blasphemy against god. They came up with a compremise that was DELIBERATELY DESIGNED to be incomprehensible so that no-one felt like they had lost. Hence Christianity is stuck with the concept of the Trinity, good luck.

It's very simple...God made me in His image.
I have a body, God had a physical body in the Son, Jesus. I have an intellect/brain, God has a ruling intellect in the Father. I have a spirit, God has the Holy Spirit.
I'm not 3 separate entities, and God isn't 3 separate gods...I am one person, God is one God. Any questions?

That's called the Divine mystery. Three persons, one God. It's actually easy for me to accept because we have God's word on it. If you have faith that man actually walked on the moon, which you didn't see, then accepting the Holy Trinity concept should be equally as reasonable.

Think of it this way. One God comes in three forms: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Just like how water comes in three forms: water, ice, and vapor. And how matter, for the most part, comes in three forms.
My pastor likes to say this: It is not 1 + 1+1=3, but 1 x 1x1= 1

It is confusing to us because our minds are limited. I can give you an example of the Trinity as best as I know how. Try and understand God like this ...One God, three separate manifestations. I will give you the best example of this I know, in human terms...We have the Sun, it is an object, it is also Heat and it is also Light. One object three manifestations. I hope that makes it simpler for you to understand Gods very essence.

It is not confusing, you just stated it in one sentence. You may not understand it, but would you expect as a human to understand God. We still don't even understand fully the trinity of the hman, the body, soul and spirit, but we accept that they are there.

It isn't confusing, people just try to make it that way. So many people want to interject a part of themselves into everything, and so try to put their own spin on any interpretation. It's a form of a dog pissing on something to mark its territory.
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all manifestations of the same thing.
