I always wondered too till this happened.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

I, too, reject the concept of a mysterious invisible superbeing, Heaven, hell, sin, eternal damnation, and infinite punishment etc. etc. etc. But I feel there is an overwhelming body of evidence suggesting that when we leave this physical existence, we don't just "go pop" but that our "essence" our "personal consciousness".... our "soul" for those who like that word, transitions to some other plane of being. There, we presumably retain our self-awareness, and perhaps a fuller enlightenment of our individual influence upon the physical world we left behind.
Down through all the pages of human history, nobody, alive today or who ever lived has a) ever seen "god" b) ever heard "god" utter a single word, or c) ever even had the remotest idea what "god" actually is, or might be. Man does not even to this day comprehend the nature of "intelligence". We only define "intelligence" as we recognise its application to ourselves.
The overwhelming majority of people find it just about impossible to acknowledge the difference between "knowing" something, and "believing" something. The reality is that "knowing" demands a very strict criterion of proof, and where that proof doesn't exist, or cannot be demonstrated, then, no matter how passionately you BELIEVE something, it is, and will forever remain just that - a personal belief/opinion - and cannot rise to the level of "knowing"
When you boil it all down, there appear to be only two possibilities. Either we DO "go pop" at the moment of death, and simply cease to exist, except as a little pile of physical matter comprising the basic elements of which we were originally made up - or our personal disembodied "awareness" transitions to another plane of being. We have no choice but to wait and see - or never know anything ever again.

Hi Rob, I know that God is real - in fact we all have a piece of him inside our soul and that is why we are all connected in the Universe. As to the afterlife, as a Spiritual Medium I am in constant contact with spirits who give me all sorts of info, so I obviously believe in this too. The info I get for other people is so personal and intimate which I couldn't possible know, and they confirm, that it is absolute proof that the afterlife exists.

Certain books in the Bible are meant for believers to read and certain books are for unbelievers to read. The prophecy books of Revelation, Daniel and Ezekiel are meant to prove Gods existence to unbelievers as well as strengthen the belief of believers. The prophecies foretold in these books have always been and will always be 100% accurate. Could you look into the future 2000 years from now and be 100% accurate with your predictions? Science has no proof of evolution, only theories and conjecture on their part. Did humankind start as a fish, or a monkey and evolve? If so, why aren't we still seeing fish growing legs, or monkeys turning into humans? Science tries to disprove Gods existence throught the "Big Bang" theory. What were these two items that collided? and where did they come from? You cannot have a Big Bang with first having something. Where did that something come from? God gives us many clues to His existence, we can either try and explain them away or we can accept them for what they are. No man has ever made such an inpact on humanity as Jesus Christ does. All of our calendars are based upon Jesus Christ. Think about that, who else can make that claim. 2006 years since he walked on this earth, and we still count the days from His departure until He returns. Archaelogical proof is still being dug up today, in all these years, nothing has ever been uncovered that opposes the Word of God or that contradicts it in any way. In the last 5 years or so, science has admitted that all its findings due to carbon dating are now incorrect. Carbon Dating has been proven to be inaccurate and unreliable by the same people who used to hail it's use. Now scientists are scrambling to find new theories (String Theory).
String Theory is one of their new theories now to try and explain the universe. They have rejected their old theories and keep trying to find one that works and explains everything. They will never accomplish this. Also, the earth is set in its orbit, in this universe, in such a way, that, if it were to move one tenth of a degree in any direction, all life would cease to exist. Just a coincidence? I think not!! Just more proof from God to us, that He is in control of all things, not us.

According to reality, there is not a pixie with feathery wings living on clouds.

Read theories about the Universe - they agree with observation and in them, there is simply no need for a Creator. Science has the ability to prove things. Why do you think the Pope meets with the world's top Physicist and Astronomers? Because they don't want to look like idiots like they have in the past.

Remember, Odin was worshipped at one point in history as well. THe world has been around much longer then the Bible is likely to mention. The bible will take you back to the first Ice Age, no where near the beginning of time, if there indeed is a beginning of time. Read Stephen Hawkings.

God is a real creation of the human imagination, and has real existence in the minds of the believers, but nowhere else.

It depends on what you believe. You believe in God, so it's real. You don't believe in God, so it's not real.
Actually, what's the difference? I think that believing or not believeing in God doesn't make great change in human lives. The religious thoughts like believing in certain religions or believing that there is an afterdeath world affects our lives much more than the God.
So, is God real? who cares?

Yes God Is Real. I'm not even Christian and I recognize this.
Why do people insist on asking the same question over and over again?
Do you think the answers will change?
There are as many gods and goddesses on this planet as there are people who believe in them. No two beliefs are the same even in the same religion.
From spirit we begin. To Spirit we return. What we learn in the interim is what is important. People are in Need of Spiritual connection and faith in something. We all recognize this but few admit to it. If it was not for people believing in a God or Goddess they would not and could not exist. It takes Faith to create gods and it takes Faith to keep gods.
Yahweh is Jehovah is Allah The same exact god. The same precise life form. It is how he is perceived that makes him.
Meglyn is Gaia... SAME Goddess same same same same same. It is how she is believed in and by whom she is believed that changes her name.
People are the center of faith. Without Faith in something we are off center. Take this bit of info and believe it. People make gods and goddesses real to themselves. People perceive and people hold gods to exist. Once Mankind is gone from this planet and dead, there will be no gods. There will be no men to believe in gods. All will be forgot. When this planet dies as all things existing in time die. All will be forgot.
From the beginning of man to the end of man all things having to do with man will be forgot.

When in spirit we return. We do go on and create again. Life in the physical or life in the spiritual, It is a circle.

Yes. As far as the afterlife is concerned, I don't dwell on it, but I believe there is.
