Houston is where the NASA space center that the astronauts communicate with. This particular phrase comes from the Apollo 13 mission where they had a problem which could have very well prevented all of them from returning to Earth and losing their lives. The astronauts first informed mission control of this problem with the transmission, "Houston, we have a problem..."

"Roger That" is CB lingo. Roger means "all communications have been received" and Roger That can be translated into "I received that". Another popular one is from the 10 signals, "10-4" which is the 10 code for "all communications have been received." The reason why they use Roger is because it is a phonetic word which starts with the letter R. In morse code, to signify a message was received okay, you would just send the letter R. The entire alphabet has standard words associated with each letter from A to Z. Today R is represented by Romeo, but prior to 1955 it was Roger and is still with us today in various wireless communications.

As for "Hit the Road Jack" it was a 1961 hit song from Ray Charles but I'm not sure if the phrase existed before then or not.

Roger means "copy", "heard you" on the radio in the military and civilian aviation. This usage comes from the letter "R" of "received" which in the old phonetic alphabet was called "roger" (now called Romeo) in radio alphabets (such as the Joint Army/Navy Phonetic Alphabet). It is commonly proceeded with the word "that" to form the common aviation phrase "Roger That". It is also often shortened in writing to "rgr".

It in fact does not mean "I will comply" as many think, that distinction goes to the phrase "wilco" which is formed from the phrase "will comply".

"Hit the road" is an expression that means to get going, to leave. Ray Charles made it famous with a song called "Hit the Road, Jack" back in 1961.

"Roger". The letter R had been Morse code shorthand for "Received", and over the radio it became "Roger" in the RAF phonetic alphabet.

"Houston" is where the Space Center is located and astronauts speaking to them during missions used the name as a call signal.

"Jack" is a nickname for John. John is a common name (which is why unknown male people are referred to as 'John Doe'), so it's used in the song to refer to a men in general.
