They are well organised so far as scriptures are concerned. The Hindus are the most organised to lead a way of life which is uniform in essence and accepts changes in course of history with out allowing the basic structure to weaken. It has no organisation like the Pope and the Church or the Imam and Kaaba to regulate with sanction and power to punish for the disobedience. The main reason is it is the most liberal religion to allow maximum freedom in matters of belief or disbelief to its followers. Swami, Yogi, Mahayogi and Jagadguru are titles of spiritual attainment who are respected by all as saints. The Hindus believe in Unity in variety and diversity even in matters of religion and rituals. The apparent disorganisation is their strength and not their weakness.

There are four Vedas, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda. The Vedas are the primary texts of Hinduism. They also had a vast influence on Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. The Rig Veda, the oldest of the four Vedas, was composed about 1500 B.C., and codified about 600 B.C. It is unknown when it was finally comitted to writing, but this probably was at some point after 300 B.C.
The Vedas contain hymns, incantations, and rituals from ancient India. Along with the Book of the Dead, the Enuma Elish, the I Ching, and the Avesta, they are among the most ancient religious texts still in existence. Besides their spiritual value, they also give a unique view of everyday life in India four thousand years ago. The Vedas are also the most ancient extensive texts in an Indo-European language, and as such are invaluable in the study of comparative linguistics.

That may be true Brenden, but, most hindu's don't really understand their own religion because they all believe in whatever God or God's are favoreable to their family and lifestyle. If you ask several Hindu's how many Gods do they have, you will get different answers from each of them. There are only a few regular one's like Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Parvati, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Durga, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Shakti, Buddha, and Goddess kali. Each one is a god or goddess over a different thing. But there are hundreds more.

Both terrorism and conversion are existing and Hindus are a mere spectators. Hindus lack leadersip. Christian conversion is spreading like virus and muslim terorism is taking deep roots in the country. What we need is spiritual leaders doing their duty. We don't need hindu political parties to fight this dual menace. The spiritual leaders have to come with the solution. This can happen only if we people start consulting with them. Currently they are given very less importance. There are many who are not aware of them. Our hindu scriptures have solution for every situation. Solution to these burning issues will benefit one and all.

because the religion of hinduism is about people finding their own paths, each family has it's own reincarnation of a god they worship, each family has it's own tradition, hinduism does not dictate your life, that is why hinduism is also very tolerant of everyone, it's open as an interpretation, that's how religion should be, you fidning your own path, not following one just because you're told to
and by the way, hinduism is not polytheistic, it's monotheistic, all the gods people talk about are reincarnations of one god, ask any hindu, they will tell you that

Because when Hinduism was born there was no danger to this faith as Islam and Christianity had to defend its followers from being slain by each other ever since Muhammad spread his faith under the brand name Islam.

It's harder to organize polytheistic religions. If everyone has a different favorite god, it's more difficult to get them all swimming in the same direction.
That's why monotheistic religions such as Christianity and Islam are more dangerous. When everyone believes in the same God or Allah, it is much easier to get people to die for Him.
