The one with the stoning of the guys who lie with other guys or whatever.. the fact that this is still in the Bible but hasn't been acted on in mainstream western society in ages should be a hint that religion isn't jiving with the times and needs to be updated or thrown out.

Here's a good one for this category:

Numbers 31:1-18:
"...And they warred against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses, and they slew all the [adult] males. And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones...And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses...And Moses was angry with the officers of the host And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Ba'laam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

Definitely a runner up, on the subject of celebrating mass infanticide: "Remember, O LORD, against the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem, who said, "Raze it, raze it to its very foundation. O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, how blessed will be the one who repays you with the recompense with which you have repaid us. How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones against the rock." - Psalm 137:7-9

Leviticus and Numbers.

These books are all about laying down the law. They go on, chapter after chapter, discussing how long the hem of a garment should be, the proper way harvest crops, and a million and one other bits of minutea. They also go on and on about relentless battles and killing. I'm sorry, but these books are sheer tedium.

I do not recall the book or verse but it was told to me at a camp... it was about a priest in a temple who was so upset about the sexual activity occuring in a tent outside the temple, he thrust a spear through the couple... and into the earth. It tore at me deep. Still does.

lol not hard to find

many are about harm, killing and exclusion

Eating Dung And Drinking Piss

"But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?" (II Kings 18:27)

Whatever moral lesson an adult might gain from such questionable verses, one can only wonder. How many parents realize that their children, who might come across such filthy passages, could get the wrong message?

Any mention of eating feces and drinking urine in any secular writing would get considered obscene and sick by any righteous minded Christian. Then why should it not receive the same consideration if found in a bible? Might we ask what artistic or social value this verse presents?

Note the word "piss" stands as one of the censored vulgar words of the public television industry. If Christians wish to censor such language from secular sources, then it behooves them to give themselves as an example and thus censor the obscene verses from their own Bible.

So is my word that goes out from my mouth, it will not return to me empty. But will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for wich I sent it.
