I have been waiting for an important business call from one and haven't received it yet.

A Jewish day starts the night before, and ends at sundown the following day. Since Jews observe the Sabbath on Saturday, that means sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

Orthodox Jews observe the holy Sabbath, from the time the sun sets, which is could be 5 in the afternoon, till the evening of the Sabbath, when there are some observable stars in the sky, since Jews measure days from sunset to sunset, not from midnight.

In the winter, they stop doing business at 3 or 4, since the days are short. The guy will probably call you today or tomorrow.

And, I would like to add--many ''close shop'' in the early Friday afternoon----to get ready for Shabbat.
