So how does anyone know when 'the one' is the one we are dating or friends with?
Some people say "you'll just know". Is it always like that? Does it soemtimes take longer for one partner or the other to get there? Is there sometimes a break-up first and a subsequent realisation later that they should have been together? What's your experience?

If the person is 'the one', the feeling is mutual. It is very rarely felt by one or the other. You just get an incredible feeling within your heart.
Everything that you want a relationship to be, you just know that you have it - love, trust, honesty, respect, communication.
That is how my girlfriend & I feel about each other.

After you have lived for 1-2 years in the same house, and you know that you don´t live the day to day without fighting too much.
Get real, there are different stages of a relationship
The first one is called the honey moon: when everything is perfect, and you love the person.
Eventually with time, you will find if you can live together in the same house. You will get to know the person in full-details.
If the other person is not living with you. You can´t see how is this person like.

There is no particular reason / season to know that this is the one .
But you will say yes to every thing he or she asks or says even if you don't like it. the very thought of it (LOVE)makes you lose your appetite and dream about the person ,its not necessary to be with one for a long period / or break up and start a fresh ,Love is to beautiful to see / feel and experience it as it is next to the very fabric of life itself which when shared and cared for flows like the NILE always giving and not asking any thing back.I hope i have given the answer you are looking for

There are many levels of love in this world.
(1) There is Perfect love. Instant attraction & compatability!
(2) There is Developing love between friends.
(3) There is the Mix, Perfect love & developing & vice versa.
(4) There is Difficult Love, a mixture of Love & Hate.
(5) There is Unrequited Love.
(6) There is Selfish Love.
(7) There is Sexual attraction, with no bigger future.
We could go on forever.

It is just a feeling that you get. It is apparent that not everyone in this world gets to feel it or there would be less divorces. My husband is my soul mate and I knew our first date that he and I would be together forever. We have been together for 15 years and I still get excited when he comes home from work. I love him more and more everyday and would do anything to make him happy. True love is the best!

well yes you'll just know..you feel it .. but also it happens alot that after a break up someone realises that it was the "one" and sometimes they get back together and give it another chance :)

if you end a relationship and then realize you maybe lucky and return but from my experience no, but when you do find the one you are meant to be with, you will know
