Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas is liberated!

Generally the liberation of CO2 is physically observable by the phenomenon of EFFERVESCENCE.

You hear a spontaneous 'hissing' and 'spitting' sound and small bubbles of Carbon dioxide gas form and burst.

Effervescence is louder and rapid when you use a strong acid like Sulphuric Acid, Hydrochloric acid etc.
