There are two types of reproduction: asexual and sexual. Asexual reproduction is where only one individual has the ability to reproduce without a partner.
Sexual reproduction, on the other hand, is the activity that brings the female and male sex cells, the gametes, together which means the male and female individuals have to be present. When these cells fuse, it produces an embryo which gors in the female organ the womb. Until the foetus has fully grown, then does she give brith.
Sexual reproducion is essential for evolution and continuation for any species.

anisogamy - (biology) reproduction by the union or fusion of two differing gametes (especially differing in size)
isogamy - (biology) reproduction by the union or fusion of games of the same size and structure
reproduction - the process of generating offspring

Look at this one ,it is a short answeer but a good one indeed

Fun!?!

Seriously though, it's a method of reproduction where the offspring contains DNA from 2 parents (as a male and a female gamete must fuse to produce a viable zygote/embryo).

Sexual reproduction requires the contribution of gametes, specialized cells containing a special half-portion of genetic material from two parents. One of the parents is typically identified with the incubation, production of an egg or seed, or internal development of the resulting embryo, and is called female. The other who provides the sperm that fertilizes the haploid egg is called male.

sexual reproduction is the fusion of male and female gamate...it results to offspring..for brief i think u should be knowing about human reproduction and development it;s too big theory u may understand better by refering somes sites like www.wikipedia.com
it;s simple.. i will tell u in short as much as possible
reproduction is process by which an organism produces new individuals or offsprings of its own kind..sexual reproduction involves production of sex cells and gamates.,gamates r unicellular structures produced in sexual reproduction..the male gamate is called sperm and female gamate is called ovum or egg. and these gamates r produced in special organs called gonads.,the male gonad producing sperm is called testis and female gonad producing egg is called ovary.. and these r basics there is still more to understand it briefly u better refer the given sites.... understand well
