Have you considered the possibility that you may have several severe food allergies? You can be tested by an allergist, your doctor can refer you. If you think however that your problem comes from a lifetime of the wrong food taking its toll, then fasting is going to be a completely miserable experience for you. See your doctor and make small changes like no junk, no refined sugar, no dairy, etc. Do this a week at a time and after a period of 6 months or so, slowly re-introduce these things into your diet (if you feel like it, that is).

Water fasting can be harsh the first three days. I've used fasting to quit smoking and it worked rather well. When studying fasting I found that most people would rather do a juice fast because it seems to have an over all better outcome. If you do a juice fast make sure you give time for fruits to digest before you intake a vegetable juice and vise versa. Fruits mixed with vegetables can have a tendancy to cancel each other out.
If you water fast you'll start to taste all those nasty chemicals you induced over the years. That is around the second day. Thats when the cleansing starts to commence powerfully. Five days seemed to suffice well for me. I then stuck as close to a raw vegan diet for around a week afterwards.
It could be hard to stay strictly raw vegan cause some canned foods such as kidney beans are cooked. I just suggest a raw vegan diet after a fast because your body has to get used to digesting again. Also you want to get a great amount of fiber such as eating frosted mini wheats or something. NEVER eat meat right after a fast.

Honest, this same thing happened to me. I drank a little drink, or ate a small sandwich on diet bread, and I felt bloated, right up under my diaphragm. It could have been a serious medical condition. But I decided to tackle it by having just one thing to eat and drink all day. I felt better. That was actually the kick-off of a successful diet for me that made me lose 70 lbs +. I need to lose. My doctor told me so. But without the bloatedness and discomfort, and me worrying about what it was, I never would have begun. I don't know if you need to lose. But if you do, this is a good place to start.

Why ask, course you can if you want. Could help, if it doesn't seem to be go to a doctor or naturopath but doctors only order tests which generally don't turn up anything and they say your fine when you still feel not fine so I would try every other option before you waste your time on them.
