Firespider gave you the best advice. I would only add that if you can find "Bag Balm" in the store near you, it is even better than petroleum jelly/vaseline for keeping the feet (and other dry areas) soft. If you can't find it, vaseline is your best alternative.

Last time I had a pedicure the girl used a Dremmel Tool with the sandpaper on it and she sanded down my heels. I was so impressed I gave her a $20.00 tip! I had my husband get me a Dremmel Tool for Christmas (about $35.00 - $40.00) and I love it. You just have to be careful when sandind down your heels so that you don't go to far and hit new skin. This is the only cure I know of. I use a pumice stone daily in the shower but it never gets enough of the dead skin off. I have also used those little "cheese graters" for the feet. Believe me, the Dremmel Tool is so much quicker and has better results. If you know someone that has one that you can borrow you could try it out!

Get yourself a pumice stone at any drugstore. Soak your feet in hot soapy water for at least 20 minutes. Take the pumice stone and scrape it against the callouses on your heels in a back and forth motion covering all areas. You may need to do this a few times a week to get rid of the initial callous. Then once a week to prevent them from recurring.

Also, get some thick cotton socks, when feet are clean and dried, apply either a thick lotion or vaseline to your feet, then place the sock over them. This should help. Good luck.
