i have heard about it been not too sure

yeah..my mum does that too..taste good..well,u should try and see for yourself..makes the chicken crispier and less fat compared to other starch..happy trying~

For Asian cooking I know you can coat with corn starch for recipes like General Tso's chicken or Sesame Chicken but I don't know how it would work with skin on chicken in a skillet frying!

yep. Mix it with a little water to make a pancake mix consistency, dip the chicken in that all over and then fry. It will cause a nice and crispy coating. Make sure the oil is hot enough though!
