There is a film out called...."Waris Shah-Ishq Da Waris" That movie is amazing...it's about a sufi saint(muslim) who writes the oh so famous love story "Heer"---which originated in India. You can look up that story online. He writes that story in poetic form and most of it is in Urdu. The movie has subtitles in the following languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Russian, & Arabic. If you want, you can buy the movie at .... www.nehaflix.com I'm sure you will enjoy that movie....it's been sent 2 the Oscars!!! http://store.nehaflix.com/washisdawadv.html There's the link to buy the movie. You can listen 2 the songs here....http://music.pz10.com/album/5705/Waris%20Shah%20-%20Ishq%20Daa%20Waaris%20(2006)-Gurdas%20Maan.html

just incase u dont already know...urdu is a language of the subcontinent and it gained popularity in the Mughal period(1200-1800 A.D), arabic, persian and some sanskrit...urdu is a amulgamation of these languages and more
