I agree, they probably wouldn't be accepted by the masses. I think it would be a lot like in the movie X-men, some where good and some were bad, but ALL were prosecuted for being different. Humans fear what they don't understand, and I bet anything I own that the U.S, government (especially) would want to eliminate the threat before they turned on us.
