Yes and no ... sex is important to an individual
If you don't have the same thoughts on sex, then you would need to decide how much it means in your relationship .. because chances are it will not change after being together for a while. In fact most people I know say it gets less after a time together (and yes it is usually the woman who looks for it less)

Its not important as trust, honesty and communication but its high on the list. You dont have to have it to be in a loving relationship but it would all fall back on the type of persons in the relationship. You may have someone that can't have sex and therefore it would be tough to find someone that would be there for them knowing that would never happen. Its just how the people of the world has evolved over the years, sad but true

It is to some people, more to men than women, I think. For me (a male) on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 6. I like giving pleasure and having sex with someone who is "into it". I've not found many women who can get in the right frame of mind. I did find one who comes with me almost every time. That's important to me

Everyone is different, but for me it is very important. However, it can't be everything, as there is more to a relationship than just sex.

I think intimacy is important. Sex should be between two people who are in a committed relationship. There are several relationships that have flourished without sexual interaction. It all depends on your relationship and who you are involved with.

No! not really , it's kind of a biproduct as you progress.It is really the missing feeling that you get when other partner is absent. When you fall in love with some girl do you get sexual feeling at first? No dude, and that's LOVE. Sexual desire is totally deferent.
