best thing to do is to go get a book on upholster,I did a chair by just taking to old fabric and seeing how is is put on and just do it ,there are pretty nails or you could use staplers,there is also fabric glue, its lots of fun, I am thing of doing a sofa,good luck

For most chairs, it is not too difficult, if you are somewhat handy with your hands. Can you take puzzles apart and put them back together again? Chairs are like 3D puzzles. Take the chair apart, carefully removing the upholstery. Use the piece that you took off as a pattern for the new upholstery. Many chairs just wrap the fabric and staple. It is an incredible change with just a little work.

You might also check the padding/foam. While they are apart, it is a great time to update or change that as well. Sometimes you can get another few years wear out of the same foam by flipping it over.
