Yes, even though it's very rare. My best friend is a girl. We've been friends since the 7th grade (we are both 32 now) I can honestly say that niether one of us has ever made a move on each other, or even thought about it. She's been married for years and I've been involved with my last two girlfriends for the last 4 years and we always remained close. So yes, it's possible, though VERY rare. It is true. Usually a guy will be "friends" with a girl with hopes of sleeping with her or dating her one day.

The difference between friend & friendship is; a Friend is infinitely dear and priceless, outweighs the whole world with all temptations. For friendship love knows a friend not by his outward pose, or dress of heroism, but by his smile, his quiet talk, his weakness and by how he treats ordinary human life.Friendship is relationship between two or more people, who are friends, a relationship between people, organizations, or countries, which is mutual feelings of trust.

Yes. Most of my friends are male. Honestly, I've had romantic relationships with more female friends than male.
