Skin not properly clean is the old wives tale or hormones are in a rage and pent up frustration of sex is coming out because it cant come out is another old wives tale. See a dermatologist in your recent future and get the meds and cleansers and creams to clear that up in a jiffy and move on. It is not about skin but prevention of more pimples in the future.
