If one does not believe there is a God creator, where would he go when he expires. Yes, his body returns to nature, he is just like a puff and that is all about him. So, if one believes otherwise, supposed his death also is just a vapor as there is no God to receive him as he has expected for the faith of God in his life time, would that have any ill effect on his belief. I don't thing so. And so, comparatively speaking, it would be safer to believe there is a God just in case. What do you think? Don't you think we should be making the safer and wiser choice? Or just stick to the faith and face the eventuality, ie face God and tells him why He is not being believed.

I'm not a Christian... I firmly believe I will end up in the Summer Lands, however I will give you my thoughts on this.
Christians believe that sinners go to Hell and the good go to Heaven. The non-believers (ie me) stay in Limbo. This is where they stay until Armegeddon, which is who knows when.
Given those facts, when did you last confess your sins? Have you sinned since then?
Maybe the question should be, "Would you go to Heaven?"?
The criteria is pretty tight.... And apparently places are limited....

Actually it's safest not to belief in any god. 1. What if you pick the wrong god to worship? And when you die, you end up facing a much different being then the one you picked. 2. What if there really were no gods at all and you just wasted your only life praising a god that never was? Wouldn't that suck?
I for one am not going to worship the Christian god out of fear of eternal damnation. If he exists, he obviously isn't all-powerful, all loving, all-knowing, etc.. because that is impossible and contradictory; so therefore I can reasonably conclude that he does not have the power to send me to hell as much as his followers would like to boast. So that whole issue doesn't bother me in the least.
I chose my religion because I feel a connection to it and I don't have to grovel and bow to my gods. Yes, atheism is safer but polytheism is more fun. ; )

GRACE1228 is absolutely right but I will add this also. A DRY SINNER can go under the water to be baptized and come up a WET SINNER IF they are not sincere and think that they will go to heaven that way. You HAVE to accept the Lord and what He has done for you, not just believe it and go on sinning. I know the Word of God says that "whoever believes in me will be saved", BUT there is a big difference in the *believing" part that many do not understand. Go to Matthew and read ABOVE the verse and BELOW the verse to pick up the SUBJECT. Not just one verse above or below it but ALL of them in the Chapter.READ John Chapter 11. ALL OF IT.

Jesus Christ said this in the book of John found in the Holy Bible,"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me". John 14:6
To answer your question it is safer, but like some have already stated, God knows your heart, there is no fooling Him. Read the Holy Bible and pray and make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.

Saying that one believes in God just to be on the safe side will not get him/her into heaven by any means. God knows your heart. Those who enter heaven are those who believe that Jesus is their Savior and have accepted Him as so and are thankful. There are those who believe God exists but have no relationship with him whatsoever - it's not enough to just believe, so that would be a waste of time. There's no fooling Him.

No, have some guts!!!!
If that is the point of believing in a religion than it's just for personal gain! Sad.
When you expire, you go nowhere. You feed the ground!

If this is your reason, then you have to believe in Allah, Buddha, all the mythologic gods from Europe, Asia, and Africa...
Phew! I don't know if "to be safe" is worth all the trouble.

Interesting point.
It's better to believe in God and then turn out to be wrong, than to NOT believe in God and then turn out to be wrong.
