Almost impossible to say at this point; writting is often said to have been invented by the Sumerians as Cuneiform. Now try this on; what if they were never invented, only taught to humanity by the immortal divinity. Letters, simple scribbles which transmit thought and emotion, which carry the whole of a being in but one word (a name), they are as they were magic. Perhaps these are the very fire stole from the gods, the very knowledge gained from the fruit. Before the Sumerians there were also drawings, mostly believed to be sun-related, stretching from Germany to India.

the romans invented the numeral system and the phoencians (im not sure if i spelt that right) invented what we know as the phoenetic alphabet. but both the alphabet and the numeral system have been tweaked to make them our own.
