Can I paint on roll-up shades?

I have some plain white roll-up shades in my house that I would like to paint. I want to dress them up a bit. Is there a kind of paint I can use that would stick to them (I think they are vinyl) and wouldn't harden and flake off?

you could use a spray paint but dont know how long it would last as rolling up and down will probably cause it to fall off.

Another EZ way to dress up roll type shades 8s with fabric- Measure the length of your shade
Find a lightweight fabric that you like wide as the shade and fold
it over a foot at a time so when you roll it out you will see
the correct side.
Roll the shade out all the way on a flat surface
Using 3M super sticky spray from hardware store... start to
spray from very top inside of shade (the side you will roll out
and see when back in window) about a foot at a time
Align your first foot of fabric at the sticky top of shade and
continue process rolling down to bottom of the shade. Press to seal each time. You can even use a rolling pin but I like
my hands the best.
Lastly trim the edges with a good pair of fabric scissors for clean
edges on both side.

It works and looks nice. Use extra fabric from cut edge if you want around a metal trash can, etc.

I've used stencils and fabric paint to put a pattern along the botttom edge of a roll up blind.

Yes you can paint on rolltop shades.
I use craft paint that you buy in little bottles. It's water based and easy to wash off of any surface that you accidently spill it on.
