Surely after right because the Qu'ran says say to the people of the book we believe in the revelation sent down to you and our God your God...but if it is after Why do Muslims say the Quran was handed down because it is corrupt? Does the Qu'ran call it corrupt? or is it guidence and light? Does the Qu'ran teach it is both holy word of God and it agrees with its revelation but it is also corrupt? Is it both Holy and corrupt?

Redkorean: Abraham had no scripture even the Qu'ran teach's this do mUslims believe in a living God do they not study his word? So far I have heard that Allah teachs to diferent eras from the Qu'ran one era the Qu'ran teachs was before the Qu'ran was written. I have heard that the Bible was after Jesus and that all the teachings before him were corrupt. and now Abraham had scripture and no one knows when the bible became corrupt or why Allah taught it was true and then also taught to tell those believers int he book it was true revealtion when it was already corrupt and scientist teach man about God. Perhaps Muslims should quit studying science and pick up the true word of God and see if he is real because if he isnt you are wasting your time and if he is you guys need to get to know him.

** I must admit the best Muslim answer so far the Bible was not corrupt but people were interpreting it wrong when I suppose the Qu'ran was written and therefore since then it was I supose added about the cross Therefore Allah could rightly say it was handed down by me and is revealtion that Muslims should agree with....and then the Bible became corrupt in that trinity and Jesus deity stuff....that would have sold me except that if the Gospel written a mere couple of hundrend years before the Qu'ran was not yet corrupt with these teachings why did the Qu'ran point both of these beliefs out? You could say they were taught but not written but then why is there a Gospel but to reveal the teachings of Christ which is the fufillment of the previous scripture and if these two things are the corruption how and in what way is the Torah corrupt did the Jews also seek to teach the deity of Christ which they do not agree with in their scriptures? Did two religions believeing different things corrupt both of their scripture in away they both agree and yet both religions believe different things...but both promote that Jesus as God who atoned for sin the gospel was too close to the time of the Qu'ran and scriptures intact for before the Qu'ran teach the atonement and so does the book of Moses and the book of Isiah and David himself....so you are saying the Jews conspired with the Christians to promote this doctrine of Christ deity which the Jews do not believe even today.. after the Qu'ran was written and it didnt anger the Jews??? they were corrupt even before the Quraan was revealed...the Quraan was brought down to rectify the truth...to honour what the true essence and word of the Bible and the Torah was and re-instate the belief in one God...
at least when it comes to the 10 commandments -Islam holds true to it more than the other two religions...
Muslims do believe they all come from God, because we're not considered Muslims if we don't believe in them -the original version of course...and they are all Holy but once it gets to the hands of man, it can become corrupt and its no secrets that the rabbis and priests have changed the Torah and the Bible a few times over the centuries...why else is there even till now 5 million versions of say the Bible but not an existing authentic original??? its like chinese whispers -you have to ask the question-is the Bible you have now the truth? especially when you dont know the authors/background. so how can you consider it holy if its meaning/verses has been crucified, plaigerised, massacred a million times over? just relying on pure blind faith?!? c'mon peoples!
for those who dispute the Quraan and say its hoax, here's a challenge...you know if something came from the Creator if it is able to explain the existence of a creation...
in the Quraan there are plenty of scientific facts, all proven thousands of years later and keep in mind the Quraan was revealed in the Middle/Dark Ages...if the Quraan can explain the formation of a human being in a mother's tummy just like how you study for it in a normal Human Biology text long before we had xrays, cameras to see inside, where in the Bible or Torah does it prove so, if people claim these books (the ones found today) are not corrupt?

What are the major differences between the Quran and the Bible?
FACT: The QURAN CAME INTO EXISTENCE CENTURIES AFTER THE BIBLE AND TORA. People who believe in it seem to think a counterfeit comes before the original. Islamic believers cannot validate the claim that the Bible is the counterfeit because the Bible's existence preceded the Qur'aan.
FACT: THE QUR'AAN TESTIFIES ABOUT ONE TRUE GOD (ALLAH) AND HIS PROPHETS. These truths were in the Bible and Torah long before the Qur'aan. This fact reveals that the Qur'aan is not the first writtings about God and his prophets and suggests that the Qur'aan is not authentic but a forgery.
FACT: IT WAS WRITTEN BY THE ASSOCIATES OF MUHAMMAD (pbuh). Muhammad could not read nor write. Therefore, Muhammad could not verify the validity of the holy book.
FACT: THE QUR'AAN's EXISTENCE WAS AFTER THE TECHNOLOGY OF WRITTING WAS INVENTED. Believer's of the Qur'aan and Islam think the errors in the Bible prove it is not the Word of Allah. Nothing is further from the truth. The technology of writing didn't exist in the time when stories of salvation history were unfolding. So, naturally there are errors since the oral tradition existed before the invention of writing.
The Bible is not 100% accurate but, there are some things to take into consideration before declaring the Bible an invalid source to believe in. You ask a lot of good questions.
There are some problems with the Bible and errors. Please remember, the Old Testament was passed down by oral tradition before the technology of writing was available. Compared to the Quran which existed long after the technology for writing was invented. So, yes there are errors.
Secondly, there are different ways to interpret based upon the "literary forms" of writers. Depending whether it is in a historical context, prophetic, poetry, or some other type of literary form. I believe Jesus Christ IS THE WORD of God. The Bible is written by people inspired by God.
If you took a Bible course and discovered what SCRIPTURAL TYPOLOGY is you would be amazed. If you knew what SALVATION HISTORY was in the Bible you would understand. If you recognized DIVINE AUTHORITY you would know that there has to be someone in authority to reveal the "secret" truths God has given. If you research all those phrases you will begin a journey of discovery that will last a life time.
We have a saying in Catholicism: the New Testament is hidden in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New. There are many mysteries contained in the Bible that I have been amazed at discovering for the past 20 years and there is a whole lot more. St. Jerome said: Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. The whole Bible is about our SALVATION: Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 prophesies in the Old Testament about the Messiah you can discover 50 of them in cd's IT IS WRITTEN.
WHEN YOU HAVE BEGUN TO DISCOVER THESE THINGS YOU WILL KNOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY MAN. Jesus (a historical figure along with others in the Bible that are not fictitional characters) by fulfilling just 50 prophesies makes the odds of doing that 10X135 power! An astronomical figure that could not have been achieved by human means.
The thing that might shock you and others is that SATAN used scripture to tempt Jesus. So, too Satan will use scripture to trip us up from following the true faith. This is why there has to be DIVINE AUTHORITY that passes from the Old Testament to APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION in the New Testament. This is why someone cannot Authoritatively pick up a Bible and correctly interpret it nor can there be millions of interpretors to HOLY SCRIPTURE. There can only be one!

Great question.
Just to put it in a simple manner, Muslims believe that God had chosen many messengers a.k.a. Prophets to spread the teachings of a true religion (not necessarily called Islam then). Musa (or Moses) peace be upon him 'received' the Torah, Isa (or Jesus) peace be upon him 'received' the Bible, and so on... but after they passed on people started to change or add on to the contents of these holy books, therefore it's not God's words anymore. Then God decided to send the Last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the final holy book, the Qur'an and so the religion called Islam (which means submission) was founded.
Christianity, Judaism and Islam are very similar as they are known as the Abrahamic faiths and they come from the same source - One and Only God. Their teachings are similar, their prophets are similar, but not one and the same.
The Qur'an is not a better version of the Bible or the Torah, it is the correct version of these holy books that were corrupted by many people. Aren't there many versions of the Bible today? There's only one version of the Qur'an, and it is the same anywhere in the world. The amazing thing about the Qur'an is that many Muslim followers have actually memorized the holy book that if all the Qur'ans in the world were to be burned we would be able to produce another one just like that. How many people have memorized the Bible or Torah, I wonder..?

The Qur'an is the only true and uncorrupted book from God. The Qur'an tells us that the previous books confirm the Qur'an because there still exists within them some semblance of truth. Anything in the previous books that are contradictory to the Qur'an should be considered a corruption. Anything which is in agreement with the Qur'an is correct. Anything not mentioned in the Qur'an is not considered wrong or right... it just is. Also, the Qur'an mentions the previous books in the original state, not their corrupted state. There is a true bible, a true Torah and a true book of Psalms, but whether it's the one your church promotes is what's being questioned. the hands of man have altered these books numerous times. God is referring to their pristine state. You have to understand the connotation of what is being said about them.
You can hate the Qur'an all you want or love it. It does not change the fact that it is the ultimate truth. Being the continuous and standing miracle of the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) it will be the criterion and can lead one to God or destroy a person, based on their intentions.
DJ - are you purposely not trying to understand? If you chose to ignore the rational, why did you ask the question? Do you already have an answer to the question your asking and just trying to stir up trouble? Are you on a "mission" to expose the Qur'an for something you think you've touched on? Sorry my friend, you're going no where with this. You're wasting everybody's time. Like the Qur'an says: "Deaf, dumb and blind, they will not understand." I'm afraid you've falled into this catagory. Save yourself... Jesus can't help you now.

listen, the bible consists of *some of God's words that today, muslims agree with BUT along with them, other things have been added and mixed up and together, the bible has been fudged. along with the truth have been added lies.. and thats why there are so many contradictions in it. [this is what is meant by corruption]
prophet Jesus originally came to lead the Jews back to the right path after they twisted the meanings of God's words. they did not physically **change the words but they twisted and purposefully changed the interpretations to suit their lives and desires. but it seems that even Jesus's followers didnt manage to stay on the correct path [and thats why prophet Muhamad was sent... his mission was universal this time... he was the seal of all prophets... no prophet would come after him because of his one book... it was complete this time] so to actually answer your question, it was corrupted before BUT your God is till our God, because without the misconceptions about Jesus as a deity and the Holy spirit or whatever [3rd part of trinity], we go back to the original message of Jesus. one God that must be worshipped. because both Jesus and prophet Muhammad were sent by the same God, this is what it means. The Quraan in no way states that the revelation was corrupt or the word of God but the interpretation of it and the added misconceptions

All heavenly books The Torah,THe Bible, and The Qura’an are the words of God.The Bible came, and was prophet Essa’s(Jesus) book to guide the people, and save them from the corruption of the jews(and you know well how they were corrupted, and how they harmed prophet Essa). The original Torah isn’t corrupted, and the Bible came,to reveal the real teachings of Torah after jews perverted it to serve their own benefits. After Many centuries,The Qura’an came after the Bible, because also it was perverted,we do not deny that it has alot of things that get along with the Qura’an,because they are both the words of God,but some humans who wrote the Bible added things which did not happen, they glorified prophet Essa much, and made him the son of God,and made him in the position of God...We believe he is a noble prophet, He is a miracle in the way he was born, the way he was raised up to the heavens, and the way he will come again. And we love him and his mother....
There are alot of logical questions if you asked yourself with them, you may find the truth,How can Essa be the son of God,and God the merciful did not save from being tortured by human beings, who are lower than him, because he is a god,and they are humans whom he created????!!!!!
If prophet Essa was tortured to pay for humans sins, was this his fate???And does a god has a fate???and if he wasn’t a god and was only God’s son,God will creat his son to be fated???
If prophet Essa is the son of God,so virigin Mary is God’s wife??and Does God has a wife????!!!!
How God is three, and the three are in one???Isn’t three=three, and one=one????!!!!
I think that all the things that christians take as axions, are emotional lies made by the church along time ago,to serve personal benefits like the matter of those forgiveness documents.or whatever they are called.....
The whole matter needs some logical thinking....
We respect christians, because they had a heavenly book like us,we respect them because we believe that the spirit of Christianity is not diffirent from Islam’s teachings, and because we believe in prophet Essa and love him...
I hope I gave some of the information you wanted.....
Peace be with you.....

This a complete lie! This lie is perpetuated by Islam, because of all the historic, scientific, and simple mathematical errors in the Koran/Qur'an - as you see... The Qur'an just doesn't add up.
"They" could not have changed the Christian Gospels after Muhammad, since there are around 5,300 manuscripts of the whole or part of the Greek text of the New Testament (Injil) pre-dating Muhammad still in existence. Worldwide, there are 24,800 copies of these original manuscripts. These include the Codex Vaticanus (325-350 AD) located in the Vatican library and the Codex Siniaticus (350 AD) located in the British Museum. There are also 80,000 quotations in the works of early Christian writers which are so extensive that the New Testament could virtually be reconstructed from them without the actual New Testament documents. Then there is the obvious fact that the Christian Gospels were so widely distributed both before and after Muhammad, that any attempt to change (add/subtract) something in the Christian Gospels would have resulted in immediate discovery and condemnation. Additionally, the New Testament was handed down from apostolic times and its genuineness was guarded by Christian churches, and it was zealously watched by enemies of Christianity. A very wide protest would have resulted from both sides were it tampered with. Likewise, the Septuagint edition of the Old Testament was always in the hands of both Christians and Jews, both rivals in religion. Any attempts to change this by either side would have been vigorously attacked.
Some versions of the Bible from 1881 differ in a few words here and there. However, the essential theological points remain the same and are complete. Bibles we recommend, that have not changed are:
Protestants original Authorized King James (1611)
Catholics Catholic Douay Reims - older versions
The Christian Bible predates Muhammad and Islam by 500 years. The Jewish Torah predates Muhammad and Islam by 1,000 - 3,000 years. Muhammad said for Muslims to read the Bible for "Guidance and Light." For Islam to say they are corrupted, then is to call Muhammad a liar for recommending it.
The same Bible Muhammad would have seen (if he ever did) is in both (1) The Vatican (Codex Vaticanus) and (2) British Museum (Codex Sinaticus). It is all there, including Jesus dying on the cross as atonement for our sins. And, His resurrection, and ascension into heaven - in front of many witnesses. The New Testament is preserved in almost perfect condition in these two Greek texts which both predate Muhammad and Islam.
Everything in the Christian/Jewish Bible is being authenticated by archeology. Consider the Babylonian cylinder inscription of Nabonidus (thought to be the last king of Babylon) which commemorates the reconstruction of a ziggurat at Ur by Nabonidus and records a prayer to Belshazzar (Daniel 5) his son 'the firstborn son, the offspring of my heart'. Not only does this prove that Belshazzar was indeed a member of the Babylonian royal family, which had long been disputed, but it also explains why Daniel is told he could be the third ruler (with Nabonidus and Belshazzar more or less acting as co-regents).

hey id like to answer your question , we all know that the torah and gospel were reavelled down before quran it's a Fact that none can deny it . The prophet pbuh was informed by Allah that those two books are holy and are God words and we should believe in them like we believe in His existence and in his angels and in his prophets. so a muslim believer has to believe in these two books otherwise he is not a believer and shouldnt be considered muslim. however in the quran Allah saws told us that people who believed in him were few and many of those who claimed to be believers were hypocrities and changed his words , they erase the laws that they dont like and put a new made-man law to satisfy their desires. and many of the believers who truely believed in him knew that. the reason why muslim think bible is corrupted is because it has been rewritten so many time so some of the words were mistranslated , also it has been narrated by few false prophets like paul , we believe paul is a false prophet. and his the one who misled many believers . therefore few verses in the gospel has been corrupted. but still gospel has some truth in it so it has some guidance in it so is the torah . therefore there holy books and respected by muslim believers .

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values
However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.
The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.
This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.
There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.
These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect
It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.
Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.
The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.
As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).
The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."
you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is
I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.
The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.
I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach
