As a vocalist, I am concernced with color, tone, quality, etc. I was just wondering if losing a significant amount of weight will significantly change my sound. Maybe this question has an obvious answer...but I am just looking for opinions or personal experiences. Thanks.

it can only improve it :o)

all it is really going to do is help your endurance. tone, quality, and such are all controlled within your larynx, which is not typically affected. might make your voice sound lighter, and more cheerful, but thats a good thing :o)

Yes, it could change the "color" of your voice. There is fat around your throat, just as there is in any other part of your body. If this is gone, it will change the width of your throat to some degree, and may affect the color, although hopefully not the tonal qualities.

Not sure about sound, but certainly the way you breathe. Breathing is a big part of singing. You'll likely have a better control of your voice and able to hold a note longer.
