Where does this knowledge come from? I'm agnostic because nobody has ever proved that god exists. Why are non-believers so despised for believing in logic and ignoring superstition?

um it's called faith! THE DEFINITION OF FAITH IS:::
Faith:
1. The belief that something is true, in spite of evidence to the contrary.
2. The proposition that something is true, even if there is no evidence to support it.
3. The idea that something can be made true, merely by wishing it to be so.
"Faith is something you believe that nobody in his right mind would believe."

God can proven to be real through maths. Ask a Scientist how it is possible that a DNA molecule was formed and he/she will give all manner of "theories" on how it all happened. Ask a mathematician and they will tell you that is mathematically impossible that a DNA molecule could somehow just happen. All the information in a DNA molecule if typed onto A4 pages would fill a large city libary. How did all this information get there, simple, God put it there. And this little piece of Proof is just the tip of a very big iceberg that the scientific community as a whole want to keep submerged. For God's sake they carn't even explain something as basic as Gravity and yet they want us to believe they know there is no God. Take a good hard look around you at the absolute miracles of nature, that according to scientists are just "accidents" and you will know God exists. Then open your hearts to God's love and you will be able to communicate with your creator.

What they know is that they feel comfortable and safe when they think about god. They attribute this feeling to god's love. But in reality they don't 'know' god is real, just as I don't 'know' god is not real. I believe a certain thing and have reasons why I believe them, but I do not have proof (or even evidence that would convict in a criminal court).

Because despite that logic, we still cannot say with 100% certainty that God does not exist. It has neither been proven nor disproven by anyone, although I see more evidence that God does not exist, this is not proof. It is not intellectually responsible to to say that you know for sure either way.

As agnostic, you may not understand what I am about to say, and you may even think I am just as far off as the Christians.

Christians will say there is absolute truth and make fun of and chatise us who say there is no absolut truth and only personal truth. In my beleif systom, Personal truth is what a person believes so strongly that it effects that person's life for the good, or at least they think it does. That is good and right for them, but not necessarily for everyone else. That is personal truth.

But to take their personal truth and force it on everyone else and to judge everyone else by their personal truth and try and make everyone else to submit to their truth because they believe in absolute truth is just plain wrong.

Each of us should beleive or not beleive in God or Gods and Goddesses because of our own convictions, not because people force it on us.

Saying all that leads me to answer the question They know God is real because he is real to them and that is their personal truth. but that does not make him really real does it?

Non beleivers are so despised because Christians beleive in absolute spiritual truth and if you do not beleive their way, you are just a piece of trash to step on.

I know because I have the footprints all over my body to prove it.LOL.

The knowledge comes from religion brainwashing. Everywhere else in their lives if you claim to them that something exists they demand proof that would stand up in a court of law. But just throw in that they get a reward after they're dead and they waver the demand for proof. The religions know what they're doing, and they get money from them also.

well, the guy with the long answer is going to get the best answer most likely, because he has a lot of links.

No amount of links, however, can change my mind.

Now, true christians shouldn't despise you for not believing, they do but should not. they should be loving you. I Love you. just so you know.

The burden of proof rests with God. Should you open your eyes to one of his proofs, you will believe, we cannot make you.

Also... dude... you said you're agnostic... that means you might believe there is a god, but that no one can communicate with him/her or understand anything about him/her/them

you meant atheist.

but yeah, no one can convince any other person that God exists. God does that through the Holy Spirit, who then in turn shows us why he exists. Holy spirit proves it, not me.

and if I am insane, consider me insane on behalf of christ
(btw, that's actually paul's saying, I stole it ;) )

I'm coming to the conclusion that they have a different definition of the word 'know'. It often seems like they're using a different dictionary altogether. Like their definition of 'evolution', you know the straw man they set up to knock down, bears no resemblence to actual scientific theories of evolution.

They keep insisting on the rest of us using their definitions and shoe-horning ourselves into their worldviews. Ain't ever gonna work that way.

Many people know that God is real because of their FAITH. God is ever present in our midst be it good times or bad. He is always there even if we turn away from Him. Never doubt in God because that is a sin. This is all I can say. Thank you.
