I find that if you hang around friends that speak English all the time..you are forced to speak..english ..I have a friend she understands English but wont speak it..So when we are together ..I could ask .what do you want to eat..and she says tengo ganas de comirr caldo de rez and I tell her.. oh well I guess you arent eating..hehhheee..and she says porque?? cause you have to say it in english..and boy she tries very hard to place into words..but, she gets better and better..I teach her to get rid of the accent..cause she gets lazy and wants to speak spanglish..and I tell her nope..not acceptable..she will practice sayinng it over and over..till she thinks its sound better..but I wont even suggest you get a gringo/gringa as a love interest because they learned to speak spainsh way beforeher because she taught them to speak spanish fluently..hheheheee...but just stick it out its worth the time and effort believe me.... what have you to lose? nothing, but all to gain..que Dios te Bendiga or May God Bless You!
Ooops I just presumed you were of a latin culture..Are you ?? hehheeee

Here are a few tips which will help you to improve you English skills:
1. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Be confident. People can only correct your mistakes when they hear you make them.
2. Surround yourself in English. Put yourself in an English speaking environment where you can learn passively. The best way to learn is through speaking.
3. Practise every day. Make yourself a study plan. Decide how much time a week you are going to spend studying and stick to it. Establish a routine.
4. Tell your family and friends about your study plan. Get them to push you to study and also don’t let them interrupt you.
5. Practise the 4 core skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. They all need to be worked on for you to improve.
I learnt these tips when I was studying at inlingua institute. These tips really helped me to improve my English.

1) read more English materials. Not silent reading but try to read them out loud whenever possible this will help with the pronunciation.
2) Try to watch English programme and try to following the way they (Native English Speakers) speak English or perhaps try to speak after them.
3) You can also try to do a search on-line for ways to improve English. There are some software that provides pronunciation support.
Hope this helps. All the best!

Depending on where you live, you can try to find some expatriates from English speaking countries, in some towns and cities they may have a hangout where they have regular meetings.
Otherwise if your finance allow it, you can try to travel through English speaking countries, if you are s student, try to spend a year or a half studying abroad.

Well I would do it the way I have learned seven languages, listening to the music, reading magazines, making friends who are fluent or native speakers. What is your native language?
