This really annoy me. We buy Warburtons bread and as lovely as the bread is, the toaster is not big enough to fit the slice in horizontally. I have to stand them up, then keep changing around to ensure all bread is toasted. Why can't a toaster be made to fit even the longest slices of bread?? ie Baguettes. Does this annoy anybody else?

Yes this annoys me too as I always get one piece of toast which isn't properly toasted! I've seen a few larger toasters in my electrical store though so there is some common sense in the world.
I think if you want to toast baguettes then you need to do it in an oven because it would be a waste of space (and money) to buy a toaster large enough to toast a baguette.

The bread companies make the bread bigger than they used to, serving sizes in general are getting bigger all the time and bread is no exception. The toaster manufacturers are still making the toasters based on old bread sizes. It really is lame. I feel your pain.

Either try to find a toaster that can accommodate your bread or cut your slices in half

I have the same problem and having just bought a new one do not feel like chucking it because the bread is too large. I trim off the edge so it fits in neatly and give the birds of trimmed off bits so all are happy.

Sounds like you need a bigger toaster. There are many that will accomodate bigger slices of bread, and thicker items.
