I'm a international students. I bought the car(ford 2001). I'm on the road trip. My car was break down in the Utah durning the trip. I called AAA for helps me to move my car to the fix store. They sayed the problem aobut car's transmission. I want to konw how much for fix transmission that is a regular price? and if i have full coverage insurance, can i get money from insurance company? Please somebody can answer me.....

I want to ask more question. I have two fxing store can choosing. One is a Ford fix store and other one is just regular fixing store in town. do you think which one is better for me, if the price not to much different. My frined advice me to choose Ford, because they afraid that regular store may give me not good transmission. can you give me your opinion.

Your insurance will not pay for the transmission. You can get an overhauled transmission installed for around $1200. Get a quote from the mechanic in writing before he does the work. Good LUCK!
