I was going to say to go to a bike shop (LBS).
But, what do you mean by 'is not very good'? Did it work fine before and now doesn't work? Or you feel it doesn't have enough braking power?
If it's the first issue, go to a bike shop to have it fixed.
But, if you just don't feel it has enough power, maybe it's just the way braking works in general. The front brake provides around 70 to 80 percent of the total braking power. What the rear brake really does is help to make the rear wheel to stay in line, the power comes from the front wheel.

Disc brakes are not something to fool with. Take it to a local bike shop.
You should be doing most of your braking with the front wheel anyway.

If the brakes are mechanical, there might be a problem with the cable. But if they are hydraulic, then there might be a leak causing low pressure. Yeah I would get it checked at your LBS.

go down to the chemist and ask for some isopropyl alcohol. use a rag and clean the rotors with it. this is what Hayes recommend to do. also you could buy disk brake cleaner from your local bike shop
DO NOT USE ANYTHING ELSE TO CLEAN THE ROTORS. because isopropyl alcohol leaves no residudue
