Nope not at all. There are more Mormons living in the state of California then there are in Utah. And Salt Lake City is very diverse. You'll find that the large part of LDS folks live in Provo.

Northern Utah isn't nearly as picturesque as the Adirondack's. The mountain west is much drier seems almost desert like as compared to the much greener/wetter north east. The other problem with Utah is those whacky Mormons. Instead of Utah, I think you would find western Oregon or the Puget Sound area of Washington state to be closer to what your used to. Much milder winters, better scenery. Try Seattle/Bellevue area. Seattle is surrounded by water and mountains. Mt. Rainer to the SE is ~15K feet and snow capped all year round. Unless your a Mormon.

No, I reside in Illinois and I'm a Mormon, I was in Utah for 2 years attending college in Orem and went to Salt Lake numerous times and I was never bothered, nor were any of my friends & or family who visited, and the people who lived in SLC didn't even know I or some of the people that I was with were Mormon, so with that said they would of taken the chance, but we were never bothered once.

Not necessarily. My wife is not Mormon and I don't think she considers it hard, but at times annoying. However, the more professionall environment you work in the less relevant it becomes. In the part of my company I work in I am actually the minority as a Mormon. There are plenty of things to do in Utah for those who aren't Mormon and it is a clean and great place if you like outdoors.

Comedian Roseanne Barr grew up in Salt Lake City as a Jew back in the '60's and '70's. She wrote of her experience as a Jew in Salt Lake in her autobiography - "Roseanne: My Lives"....

probably no more than a Jew living in the Christian USA in general. Perhaps 3 or 4 Mormon women will try to convert you.

I would think it would truly cramp your style to live in SLC if you're not Mormon. For that matter, I'd say it would cramp your style if you ARE Mormon even worse, because presumably you'd BELIEVE that stuff they preach. But hey, it takes all kinds.

It is. A fellow that I know of was called in from his work and fired because he wasn't a Mormon.
