All a microwave does is use microwaves to shake the atomic structure of what ever it is that you are cooking. This in turn creates heat. There's nothing toxic or unsafe about it.

I'm not sure. If you nuke a rabbit, does it stay healthy?

Really though, the food that comes out of a microwave is only as healthy as the food that went into it in the first place, the only difference being that every water molecule in the substance has been heated, to a degree.

Microwaves are nothing but radio waves; they are at the frequency that excites organic molecules, especially those in fats, sugars, and water. To me, a microwave is an ideal means of cooking MANY foods (I don't just pop popcorn with mine) because it often requires far less fat to cook foods that with conventional preparation since food doesn't stick to their containers.

Popcorn, in fact, is an excellent example. If you make popcorn in a pan (as we had to do when I was a kid), you had to add something like butter or margerine to keep the stuff from sticking and burning; popcorn cooks in the microwave without any additions at all, and the only way it will burn is if you REALLY leave it in too long.

Only as good as what went in. However, heating the food up will cause it to lose some nutrient. Go and enjoy, not enough loss to make a difference. See link below for more information.

there is nothing unhealthy per se.....but as microwave heats the water molecules directly they also tend to destroy the nutrients and vitamins (molecules) in the food.
so although it is not unhealthy...the food that comes out of the microwave losses the nutritious value in them
