I agree with you. I don't think it's intelligent to put such a high limit on age limit for marriage as I know many people who are in the forties and even more yet they are still immature. 18 years old doesnot mean maturity! Maturity is not numbers!
Now about marrying more than one person, I do appreciate this practice so far that 1 man can marry more than one woman but vice versa has some problem, the most important one is to have a family life. Imagine you are married to four guys, and you are pregnant and later give birth to a child. Who is the father? A child with many fathers... ??
If you tell me about doing an ADN etc, the problem will be in raising the child. Who will be that guy who will live with you in a house and from time to time see another guy do you in his bedroom claiming to be another husband? :)

It depends on where you live, in some country including non Muslim countries, a man can have more than one wife, legally. In fact I think a cult in Utah allows the men there to have more that one wives (polygamy).
Are you sure on what are you asking? I mean not many people are willing to have more than one spouse. Mistress and secret lovers are different that a married spouse. And how does preventing the person to marry more that one person leads to pedophile?
You question brought up more questions in me.

I doubt if there will ever be such a law unless we have a world wide calamity that significantly does away with much of the Earth's population. Speaking of the world population, have you checked it out lately? About 6.5 billion right now and by 2050 9.2 billion, if nothing happens.

Not in America. I have a friend from Sudan and in his culture they have many wives. As a matter of fact, wives are a status symbol over there. The more you have, the richer and more blessed by God you are (eeeeek, I don't know about THAT).
Anyway, it's a cultural thing and no, I don't think it will even be acceptable in the American culture.

1) whats schooling have to do with anything?
2) who says that marrying a second person would not mean being faithful to the first?
do people really think that its impossible to love more than one person? I mean I've heard it debated repeatedly, and I guess its not entirely unreasonable to think its not possible.
but I think theres no reason it shouldn't be possible, or allowed.

No, though it was ok in the Old Testament, and did happen often way back when. Now the only one's who do that are doing it illegally and they are the Fundalistic Mormons.

If my husband ever said he wanted to take another wife, I'd be off to the solicitors to get a divorce. To me it would simply be him saying that I wasn't good enough for him.
