Any experiences or interesting facts about Petroleum/Geological Engineers?

I rally want to go in that field but can anyone tell me interesting things about and how it is and stuff and what about the $$$?

I work in fuels, but not in geological engineering or drilling. All I can tell you that the work can be very dangerous. The company I work for (one of the world's largest) has a log of all of the work-related injuries and deaths, each with reports of what happened. It's not pretty. I recall a lot of them burning to death from hot steam, high voltage, etc. or being crushed/mangled to death.
