Your local animal shelter.

Am sure if you tried a shelter/rescue you would find the perfect crossbreed. And you will only have to pay a small adoption fee.
All dogs will be neutered and tagged. Saving you money.

Please don't buy from a breeder or puppy farm.

The results can be devastating.

sometimes the best dogs to get are mix breeds, you don't have to worry about the expensive fees when getting them registered like you do with a pure breed. If you are deciding to by a mix breed dog, the best place to look is at your local shelter, after all why buy a dog from a pet shop when there are heaps of wonderfull companions waiting for you at a shelter that need you to take them home. Or have a look in your local newspaper in the classified section for give away puppies. At least that way you are not paying a pet shop or someone trying to make a quick buck from their puppies. I'll leave this final thought in your head, think about what happens to all the dogs/puppies at shelters that don't get to go to a good home... I'm sure you know what i mean, so why go anywhere else. hope this helped = )

Another place to try if you live in a small rural town like I do is the weekly auctions at the sale barn. Lot's of people take their pups there to be given away. Most times these dogs will be from good stock and properly cared for. You can also buy dogs there but I, personally speaking, do not believe in buying a dog. Why spend over a hundred dollars for an animal that can die tomorrow. If you spend 500 dollars on a dog and it turns out that it has a hereditary disease that may make it useless or die you are out 500 dollars for a dog you didn't even really get to know. Wal-Mart parking lot is also a good place to check. People usually have dog's to give away there. You want to watch for a few things though. If the person that is giving the pups away is in poor shape and doesn't look like they take care of themselves chances are they don't take care of their pet's very well either. You also want to check the dog's over and make sure they are lively and moving around. If they are listless and not excited to see someone new I wouldn't take one because they may be sick. Most pups are extremely excited about a new person. It means another person to lavish attention on them. Check to see if they are at least fairly clean, are a good weight, their eyes are clear and bright, there ears are free of mites and they do not have a discharge from their nose. Also ask the owner what they can tell you about the pup. If they can't give alot of info not a good idea to take them. Also watch for the owner's that are picky about who they confront for wanting a dog. If they do so it shows that they care about who is taking the pups and what type of home it is going to. Hope this helps.

If you want a crossbreed puppy don't buy it! Go to a shelter and you'll find many cute little puppies eager to go home with you :-)

You can find muts in the news paper, local shelter or on the web. The best place is the paper so you don't have to shell out a lot of money for a mixed dog!

the only place you should ever buy a mixed breed dog is from a shelter, rescue or humane society. a so called breeder offering mixed breed dogs are only doing so to make money. the quality and price you pay for this dog will only encourage such irresponsible behavior. do not ever buy from a petstore as they have already found this bad breeder and paid them and then marked up the price for themselves. mixed breed dogs are just that, mutts and they are great. and any mix of any type of dog can be found across this country awaiting euthansia in a shelter. look up the breeds you are interested in at www.petfinder.com there you'll find many in your area.

It is unusual to have to pay for a mix, unless you are looking for one of the new cross breeds Ex. Labradoodle (Lab x poodle). A typical mix breed pup can be found at your local animal shelter and also petfinder.com

Go for a rescue pup-if you are in the UK try Battersae or the RSPCA,they will also give you good advice on jabs & spaying.
