Just wanted to know, is 70 proof a lot? I'm not really a drinker, I'm just at my parents house and decided to just try to Capt. Morgan Rum with some Fruit Punch. All in a 12 ounce cup I filled about 1/2 of it with fruit punch and maybe about 1/4 of it with the rum. As I said how much is 70 Proof, and will this even get me drunk? My stomach tingles :)

70 proof is below aveage. All the rum I have ever seen is 80 proof. If you aren't used to it, rum can make your stomach uneasy. 3 ounces of rum is about three drinks. If you are not a drinker, then that could make you drunk.

Proof is twice the percentage.
70 proof would be 35% alcohol... Most rums are around 80 proof.
Rum will get you drunk. beer has much less alcohol, but it will still get you drunk. Depends how much you drink eh?

Demarara rum is 150 proof. 70 - 80 is about right for other kinds. It will certainly get you drunk.

No it isn't.. Get some 151..Now that is strong! But yes, 70 proof will get ya drunk
