Someone recently asked a series of questions about the meanings of the pieces of the amor of god. My question is; Shouldn't you go into battle 'naked', thereby demonstrating the strength of your faith?

yea you would think that would be the thing to do, but the childrens crusade and the peasents crusade proved that no armor was a bad idea

Your question is answered in Ephesians 6:11-18
"Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the strategems of the devil, For our wrestling is not against blood and flesh but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth and having pu on the breastplate of righteousness And having shod your feed with the firm foundation of the gospel of peace; Besides all these, having taken up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God, By means of all prayer and petition, praying at every time in spirit and watching unto this in all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints"
From here you can see that if we go into battle 'naked' without the armor of God, we would simply be badly wounded by the evil powers.

What do you mean "naked"? Facing a battle with faith alone? That's difficult. What armor do God gave us? I think it is the mind. You should think in every battle.

Ephesians 6:10 through 18 tells you all about it. God doesn't want you naked, for He has given you the tools for battle. Use what He gives you. You cannot defeat satan unarmed.

Think about it. The laughter of a nude person carrying a gun and running around might keep people from shooting. It might even make a few drop their guns and join you.
Armor is a great thing in a field of flying lead. Humor might prove a better weapon.

it is the evil that can weaken it

As I "become" the armor is created... I was literally attacked once and I know the armor works!
