Look, you probably hear this a lot, but I say this from experience (I used to be an insomniac and I'm in high school): When you don't get enough sleep, your brain activity seriously slows down, and your memory and ability to focus (and complete assignments) will get significantly worse. When you sleep more, you won't have to study as much (because you will remember a lot more) and your homework will get easier, and it won't take as much time. I used to live off of 6 hours of sleep a night, and studying for tests to get A's would take me 2-3 hours, but now I get more like 9 1/2 hours of sleep a night and I usually don't have to study for more than 15 minutes (and review for about 10 more) and I'll get A's. The material is actually getting harder so sleep actually accounts for it. My homework also takes me 2 hours less on average than it used to. On the rare occasion that you do get way too much homework one night and you do need to stay up, monster or red bull work well, but don't do this too often because too much caffeine can give you kidney stones (which I hear are extravagantly painful) or worse.

Get sleep, and you will feel much better (you won't spend as much time on school work and your mood will improve, and also keep in mind that you can't "catch up" on sleep on the weekends.)

Do not stay up so late to do your homework. By the time you get up, you'll be burned out. Sleep early, and just get up maybe an hour earlier than you usually do. Do drink anything with caffeine either, they're not good for you and they don't keep you awake as long as you think.
