My friend has a problem on his right ear because everytime he has cold, liquid discharges from his ear. Is his eardrum damaged? Is there a tiny hole in it that liquid from his nostril goes out to his outer ear? Please help.

He needs to see a doctor, sounds like his ear drum may have ruptured. Only a doctor can confirm this. If he has an infection he needs antibiotics, the ear drum will heal, but he needs antibiotics for the infection that caused the rupture.

He should see a Dr. But yes your sinus cavity can drain into your ear. If you have ever flushed your sinus you would find this out.
But best to let the Dr. know about this as it could be an infection and need antibiotics.
