I am a U.S. citizen who has moved to the West Coast of Canada.

In order to move from the U.S. to Canada, unless you already have immigration status or are a citizen of Canada, you will have to apply through immigration for temporary or permanent residency.

You can find the information needed and the application forms at:

The process takes 1-2 years and costs about $1,200. If it takes less time and/or less money, just count yourself fortunate!
