Fabulous question! Roman Catholics are derived from the Roman Constantine's great change from Paganism to his version of "Christianity" which is a mixture of Paganism and Christian beliefs. Because he knew that it would be difficult at best to force the pagans to change their worshiping rituals.

1. Crosses were worn on chains centuries before Christ was even born - they represented the sign of the sun.

2. Priest are called Fathers, yet in Matthew 23:9 we read; "And don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father."

3. They bow and pray to Images of Mary, Jesus, Joseph, Saint this and that, yet in Deuteronomy 4:16-18 "So do not corrupt yourselves by making a physical image in any form – whether of a man or a woman, an animal or a bird, a creeping creature or a fish."
Ex 20:4 "You must never worship or bow down to them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not share your affection with any other god!"

4. They have so many symbols of the sun, their communion bread is even cut into a perfect circle like the sun. To worship the sun is a detestable sin against God.

(De 4:19 And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars – all the forces of heaven – don't be seduced by them and worship them. The LORD your God designated these heavenly bodies for all the peoples of the earth.)

(Zep 1:5 For they go up to their roofs and bow to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the LORD, but then they worship Molech, too. So now I will destroy them!)

I could go on and on about the Catholics and their "Christianity" go to the sites and Bible passages below to find out more

Yes, Catholics use the Cross. We don't idolize it, we use it as a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice that he made for us. Yes, we all know that we can pray (talk to God) anywhere, anytime and that we don't NEED the man made structure as you say. But the church building is a place where one can be in a peaceful restful place that is conducive to prayer. Also it has practical functions for the community to pray together and celebrate the sacrament of the Eucharist.
Yes, Catholics pray to Mary to intercede on their behalf. Just because one shows respect and admiration doesn' mean that one is elevated that person/saint/Blessed virgin up above Christ. We ask Mary to pray for us sinners.
Miss Carla, just because the host ( Communion) is cut in the shape of a circle doesn't mean that Catholics are idolizing the sun--that idea is adsurd. The host does not have to be that shape, any shaped host can be used.

>>>it says in the bible not to use the cross...>>>

Where does it say that?

>>>that mary is blessed among women but, not to pray to her<<<

We don't pray to Mary. We ask her to pray for us, which is an entirely different thing.

And there's nothing in the Bible that says we shouldn't ask Mary to pray for us.

I've been doing it for a long time -- and she's never let me down. Not once.

>>>and that you need no man to talk to god for you...<<<

Where does it say that? And if so, why do Protestants have ministers?

>>>and house of god? it says not to call it that as it is an insult to god...he needs no man made structures to dwell in as he is everywhere....what up with that? >>>

We don't call our churches "houses of God." We call them churches.

We don't do it any more often than Protestants do, anyway.

>>>why do catholics ... believe you need a priest to be forgiven? <<<

Jesus told the apostles, "Whatever sins you forgive are forgiven; whatever sins you hold bound are held bound."

Obviously, they don't know which sins to forgive or which sins to hold bound -- unless the person who committed the sin tells them!

The earliest Christian writers and thinkers -- Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origen, and others -- all document the act of confessing sins to a priest. It's something Christians have been doing since the beginning of our faith.

>>it says in the bible not to use the cross<<

Where does it say that? Are you an enemy of the cross of Christ?

"For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears,
live as enemies of the cross of Christ." -- Philippians 3:18

>>...that mary is blessed among women but, not to pray to her<<

We ask Mary to pray FOR us, like the Bible says -- "pray for one another" (James 5:16)

>>and that you need no man to talk to god for you<<

We do talk to God. Jesus gave the Apostles the authority to forgive sins in His name. See the link for scripture references too numerous to list here.

>>he needs no man made structures to dwell in as he is everywhere....what up with that?<<

We need something to keep out the rain and snow when we gather together to break bread.

"On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread..." (Acts 20:7)

The bible says a lot of cotraditory things that can sometimes sound crazy. For example, Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
Soo ... God hates shrimp? And mussels and clam and ... lobster? I love lobster. And I thought we were supposed to eat seafood on Fridays during lent. It's mentioned a few more times, too, just a few verses away from that pesky part about God hating homosexuals.
Now, no offense to any catholics, but there does exist some corruption in the Catholic Church, as with most religions. The point is, if you truly believe in any religion, you don't pick and choose the doctrines you want to keep. Plus, Catholic dogma view priests as sort of go-betweens with God. They may read the bible, but they have other literature that is more stressed. If you don't like it, fine. They probably don't agree with your views, either. Live and let live.

1.) Where in the bible does it say not to use a cross? I don't really know what you mean by *using* a cross, but I have one on my necklace. What's wrong with that? What bible have you been reading lately?

2.) Catholics don't pray TO Mary. We pray with her and ask her to pray for us. Like other Christians ask their friends or family to pray with them and for them. Mary is a wonderful role model as to how a servent of God should act.

"And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."
Luke 1:38 KJV

How many of us nowadays could say that?

3.) Reconciliation (confession) is a great idea. It helps us to call to mind our sins and to repent them and to hopefully never repeat them. In the bible, Jesus tells us to confess our sins to each other.

I want to know what bible you are reading.

The Catholic church gets a lot of bad publicity. But rarely do we remember all the good the Catholic church does. Catholic Social Services provides valuable services to people of all faiths.

Did you know that a battered woman does not have to walk into a court room by herself? A representative from Catholic Social Services will go with her, and even handle the paperwork and talk to the court officers?
That is just one example of the millions of charitable things the Catholic church does.

By the way. I am Lutheran, in case you are wondering.

What's up with that is the Catholics do not consider your new testament to be accurate. Kind of like most of the rest of the world.
They have a viewpoint about how god works that is different than your version. Nothing about your version seems any more believable than theirs. Are you really learning this for the first time tonight?

They do it because of the fact they are informed to do it. enable me positioned across slightly tale. i replaced into in downtown Orlando at some point, and desperate to pass into the Catholic church prayer room (Which replaced into consistently open in the process the day, a good ingredient). while i began out praying, i desperate i desired to envision a definite scripture that I felt the Lord replaced into giving me. there have been no Bibles in the prayer room, yet a custodian replaced into passing by potential of, so I asked him if it have been a hazard for me to get one, so i ought to look it up. He spoke back, "purely the monks are allowed to have Bibles". That best there informed me why God replaced into sending me a scripture. Why in the international might any Christian church deny it rather is individuals a Bible? i've got asked Catholics approximately this, and that i've got been informed that purely the monks have the understanding to interpret scripture. this is why they do what the monks tell them above and previous scripture. they do no longer have confidence their very own interpretations of it. Very available, to have a congregation have faith which you, and purely you, have the certainty. The have confidence they have in those monks is above and previous reason. in addition they seem to furnish the Pope extra honor than Christ. i do no longer comprehend it. you will get a great form of VN's because of this, and so am I. have confidence me, i comprehend. They persist with you around. Lainey: Too best! Hellfire is a lie!

According to the Holy Scriptures, all petitions of prayer should be directed only to the Almighty God, Jehovah. Philippians 4:6-"Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer an supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God." Prayers are to be offered in Jesus' name, for he is the only mediator. 1 Timothy 2:5-"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus." So, using any forms of images or idols can't help you with your prayers to God.
