I was just wondering if the lactic acid bacteria kill pathogenic yeast in the intestinal tract and E. Coli.

I don't think that the acidophilus kills the other. They just move in and take up more territory.
Beneficial bacteria thrive when you eat lots of fiber and the yeasts don't do well in that environment. There was a news story in the past few months about paleolithic diet and the amount of fiber. Somehow the scientists found evidence of the amount of beneficial bacteria in those ancient ancestors was very high due to the amount of fiber they ate.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

The previous answerer is correct in saying they don't, they just take over. At least that is the theory. By the way, little side note: E.coli is not bad for you. Far from it - it has a very important commensol role in your gut. There are only a handful of strains of E.coli such as O157 that are dangerous.
