I have a four month old boy cat who was just neutured who is nursing on our non-pregnant cat (not his mom). She doesn't seem to mind and it just recently starting happening. Is this bad for the other cat? Should I get worried?

So if the boy "kitten" is nursing on the cat, can she start lactating?

I have a 1 1/2yr old MALE cat that is letting our 4 month old kittens nurse. He started to let them 2 weeks after the mother stopped. I called our vet and she was ok with it. She said the nipples may get chapped but other then that not to worry about it and let them. Just to watch for cracking nipples.
Also it shows he will be a great daddy like his dad still is.(Even though his dad did not nurse him. He did teach him how to use the litter box and still cleans him daily)

Yes she probably is pregnant, I've seen pregnant 4 month olds. She's been with a tom cat so it's pretty much a given that she's pregnant. No reason it would be a phantom pregnancy - and her stomach would not have grown if it was this. Cats are pregnant for two months, so if it was 4 weeks ago she's midterm. Personally I would have her spayed NOW so the kittens are aborted, unless you're planning on keeping the entire litter. The last thing the millions of cats in shelters need is more kittens coming into the world and taking up the homes they need. Take her to a vet. She needs a check over, and she needs to be fleaed and wormed, otherwise the kittens will be born with worms. If you let her have the kittens, have her spayed once they're weaned (6-8 weeks of age) and do NOT let her out until she's spayed, she can get pregnant again not long after she's given birth. On behalf of those who've criticised - OK, you didn't know: but you're supposed to do research on animals before you get them as pets. Chalice

It is OK, They do it as a form of tenderness. I know a kitten who used to nurse on herself!! If the older cat doesn't want it, she will stop it. You are lucky they are getting along so well actually. The kitten will probably stop it when he gets older anyway.
I don't think the cat will start lactating.

The cat could start lactating but may not. Depends on if the cat feels like it is a baby and needs milk to nurtur it and if she can send her hormones to work.

There is nothing to be worried about, your older cat doesnt mind this because she is a female cat. I have a kitten who is trying to nurse from an old cat and she does mind.

This is normal and it will not hurt your other cat.

"She doesn't seem to mind..." that cracks me up for some reason. Don't worry about it. It's probably comforting to both of them.
A friend of mine had a mom with babies. She found homes for all but one male which she kept. He grew twice the size of mom & she still let him nurse, even though the milk had long ago dried up. He would head butt her tummy & stick his face in there until her legs were lifted right off the ground. What a sight that was.
