Atheists in foxholes is a myth only spread by theists. There are atheist in US military. As well as other countries.

I dont know about death row but a lot of inmates convert to islam or Christianity during there time. I think some do it since it looks good for parole.

I saw this muder talking how he converted to Christianity because there is no difference between murder and stealing an apple. very scary

The US bureau of prisons says 0.2% (1 out of every 500) prisoners are atheists, yet the US census bureau says atheists make up 8-10% of US citizens. (Somehow I doubt either agency has reason to support atheists.) That means religious people are incarcerated at an abnormally high rate while atheists are indentured as an abnormally low rate. Or are you now going to say that judges and prosecutors are all helping atheists get away with crime?

Even if all the imprisoned atheists across the US were on death row, they would still only account for little more than half of the 3300 death row inmates. And since all would be on death row in this sick fantasy of christians, it would mean the only atheists convicted of fraud, murder, theft, rape, etc. would be those on death row.

The reality is, we atheists don't have a "god" to pray for to excuse and rationalize their behaviour. If I were to steal, rape or commit murder, I would be accountable, I would not shift blame, and I certainly wouldn't say, "Please don't put me in prison, I'm a good christian!"

Who would make for a better citizen or soldier, someone who expects prayer to a non-existent "god" to absolve them of any heinous act, or an atheist who takes responsibility for his own actions?

If you are implying that athiests are too chicken to fight in war, my friend, an atheist, just came back from Iraq. Wheather or nor this war is just has nothing to do with the people who are in it.
As for death row, I am willing to bet that there are fewer atheist there then other places because when people get scared of death they tend to become more religious.

May I say that if your on death row you just might be not be a good person. It seems that people who are not secure in them self need someone to tell them what is right. So I would say there probably are no atheists on death row. You have to be secure to be one.

I know some atheists that were in the Viet Nam war, and I am sure they have been in a few foxholes. As my father used to say: "Don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see."

That statement about no atheists in foxholes is crap. My grandfather fought in the trenches of world war one and my father fought through six years of world war two and they weren't remotely interested in religion or God, probably as a direct result of their experience of carnage and bloodshed. A bit of real life experience and an awareness of the brutal realities of war would soon purge the religionists of any of their cosy fantasies.

actually, atheists are 50x less likely than Christians to enter the U.S. prison system, so it's doubtful there are many - if any - on death row.

What would that prove except that religion is based on fear of death? I can never understand why believers claim this in their favor.
