Some female cats we've known: Pixie (also an orange tiger), Angelina (Angie for short), Fizzie, Static, Seraphina, Tiger Lily (Lily for short), Sassafrass (Sassy for short), Blossom, PeeWee, Missy. I agree with the writers who suggest naming the cat once you've had a chance to observe their behavior. We once adopted a stray orange neutered male, who was pretty young, perhaps 1; we had no idea if he had a name he already came to, and ended up just calling him "Cat." At the vet's office, they seemed somewhat offended that we didn't have a "real" name for him, so we gave him the formal name of "Katzlein," which in German of course just means something like "kitty" Since a lot of people don't know German, they seemed satisfied that he had a name. (In the famous Audrey Hepburn movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" there's an orange cat that is just named "cat" who is kind of a major character in the movie.)

The "right" name will come to you. Don't stress out. I had a Siamese I inherited with the name of Samantha. To me, she wasn't a Samantha. I had her for three months without calling her anything. Suddenly, it came to me! She was my baby, so that's what I named her: Baby. I adopted another cat years later who had been found abandoned with no name. I named her Little Bit because she had lost most of her tail and only had a little bit left. I named one male cat Sampson because of his muscular build and prowess. Observe your kitten's demeanor, actions, etc., and you will come up with a perfect name.

I once had a German Shepherd puppy I named Precious who grew to be a powerful giant among giants. She could take down anyone or anything in her path; but, she was still "precious" to me.

Well, I can list a few obvious ones related to her coloring:

Pumpkin, Rusty, Paprika, Sherbet, Creamsicle, Tangerine, Red

Or, I can offer some nice names for just the fact she is a precious, sweet little kitten:

Delilah, Lola, Angel, Samantha, Eva, Gracie, Lily

Good luck!!
