I've had lazy eye since I was like two and I had surgery to correct it early on and then I had to wear an eye patch. And I wore glasses like my whole life so that helped it too. So I don't think it's THAT noticable on me unless you like stare at me one-on-one. Like my eyes move slowly and not together. If, say, my right eye looks to the left then my left eye will just stare straight on. But when I just look straight, they look normal. It's just when I move one of them it's hard to move them at the same time...it's like one of my eyes move, and then the other follows.

So, should I get surgeryto correct it some more? I heard people with lazy eye usually get at least two to totally correct it. And I only had one. Plus I heard people with lazy eye have a harder time driving because their range of depth isn't as good as "normal" visioned people.

And does anyone know anyone with this condition or have it themselves? How did/do you/they deal with it?

I kind of feel ugly with it...it's annoying. People tell me I'm pretty and in-shape, but it's like my eyes bring down my looks. It's kind of depressing sometimes.

If it makes you insecure then yes by all means get it fixed.
But if you have no problem with it then just leave it be it's just a natural part of you.

BTW,You look gorgeous in your picture anyways-

My aunt actually started out normal. However after her body had trouble controlling the amount of iodine that went into her body, she grew a "thing" (I forgot what it's called) on her throat. The doctors had to perform a surgery to get it removed and then that caused an aftermath to occur. Her right eye became a lazy eye. Whenever she opens her eyes, the right one is always only half way open and it's very noticeable. She's had that for 10 years and hasn't done anything about it. If you're really self-conscious about yourself, like what I've read about you in the past, you might plan on doing it. It'll help you keep a good appearance. However if my aunt didn't consider doing it, why should you? After all having a plastic surgery doesn't guarantee anything. You might have your eye problem solved, but then after a few years another problem arouses in another location. That's what happened to my aunt. However good luck making your decision.

If it really bothers you and the side affects of the surgery (recovery time, scars (if any), other problems, etc) are worth it in your opinion (and you have money for the surgery) then I don't see why you shouldn't, in the sense that first of all, you won't be self-conscious about it any longer, it won't bother you anymore, and you won't need to worry about the driving part.

My uncle had a lazy eye and he went through three surgeries to get it fixed (he got the third after he got a big bonus from his company, and he said he wouldn't have minded not getting it if he had never gotten the extra money) but he wasn't exactly self conscious about it before the third surgery so sure, go for it.

Well, since you've asked this question in the Singles & Dating category, I'll answer your last question. For the rest of them you should repost this question under Health or something.

We are all self-conscious of certain physical features we have. Some people might have a problem with this but most guys won't care. Be confident in your looks, act like it's no big deal, and other people will follow your lead. It's all perception. Be comfortable with it and people won't care.

I think this is something you really have to do your research on whether another surgery is best. Make sure you way out the pro's and cons of having another procedure on your eyes. Once you read up on it and really know what your dealing with, then make your decision based on those facts and what YOU feel comfortable with doing. Good luck!

Well do what will make you happy. Do your research, see if the 2nd surgery is usefull and will help you, and if you decide not to have it, then dont be ashamed of who you are... I am sure you are loved just fine the way you are!
