Iskcron (aka "Krishna Consciousness") is just a fancy names for the group that Americans have known for decades as the "Hari Krishnas". This group is a truly dumbass Hindu Fundamentalist cult. It should never be confused with deeply intelligent, mystical teachings from India like Advaita Vedanta or Jnana Yoga.

As for Prabhupada in person, he was a typical fundamentalist cult-leader: Tight-assed, shrivel-souled, mean-as-a-snake, and generally filled to the brim with hate of anyone who wasn't a totally brainwashed member of his idiot sect. In this of course he was interchangable with any number of similar men from any number of other religions. In private, he was notorious for telling his "devotees" (Iskcon gobblygook for cult-members) that:

"Someday, you will be able to go up to people to ask them to say Hare Krishna and if they do not say it, you will be able to kill them".

I heard that story from several different ex-Krishnas. Charming, hmmm?
