There is a rumor floating around that a bunch of world-wise Jews gathered together and brainstormed a way to rejuvenate their religion and make it more appealing to Jews and gentiles alike. They would combine the Jewish expectation of a "Messiah" with the elements of the Dionysian mysteries (miraculous conception, birth in a cave, death and ascension, etc.), creating a Jewish Mystery religion. They would then go through the towns describing these events of the recent past, this Jesus who died and rose. If people asked why they'd never heard of this Jesus, the evangelizers would say he wanted it that way, and only now is the word getting out after his apotheosis. Supposedly, the Jesus cult would work like a series of secret initiations, with esoteric study in between, but somewhere along the line, it got hijacked by people who took the stories literally and wanted a more open, community-based church. The Gnostics lost control of their operation and faded away, leaving us with Christianity as we understand it today.

O course, that seems like a lot of trouble (and dishonesty for that matter) to go through to start a new religion, so it probably happened like the official story.

If Jesus is a myth, then He is fake and there wont be anyone acknowledge Him. There won't been any testimony about Him and Christianity won't exist also at first.
But Jesus is real man. He is fullly man and fully God also. That means he is man that can be tempted and he is also God that holy and sacred. He came down to Earth just to sacrifice Himself for our sins and so that we can go to Heaven. He is risen on third day and show Himself to many people..

pretty good evidence that someone called Jesus lived and preached.

the metaphysical stuff (including resurrection) probably added later on (and formalized at Council of Nicea)
