My eight year old cockapoo...she is fine now and is chewing on her toys. She isn't limping so I threw away that conclusion of a broken leg, and she doesn't whine or bark anymore when I touch her leg. But now she is biting me whenever I touch a body part other than her head. She'll let me pat her head but that's it. She also bit me when I tried to take away her toy. I actually was not taking it away. I was trying to squeak it so she would be excited. I have about four bites...and they hurt...like...hello. I have to go to the doctor to get them disinfected...anyways she can walk but not run, she can't jump up too high, she can't even get on the sofa, but she can jump off the bed, I just have to carry her. Maybe it was temporary, but I'm still worried, should I take her to the vet in the morning, because it's 11:45 where I am..PM. Even if she is back to her normal self? What do you think it was? She was shivering and not eating a few hours ago, but now those two are gone.

Is this normal for an eight year old dog?

She is not limping or whining. It's more like lethargy or laziness or lameness...I don;t know though...

I did read your other posts, and I do believe your dog is in need of a vet. You won't be sorry if you take her in tomorrow, but you very well may be sorry of you don't..
a good rule of thumb..If you would take a child to the doctor with the same symptoms, then its time to take your dog..
She needs to see the vet.
My best guess is that she injured her spine, getting off of furniture, and needs anti inflammatories..but it could be any number of things..Call in the morning.

Yes, take her to the vet! A.S.A.P.! Even if she seems to be feeling better in the morning. Do not hesitate.

I had a pet once that was sick. It started on a Friday night. I said that I would take him to the vet on Monday if he was still sick. He died Sunday night. I have never regretted anything more. I should have taken him Saturday morning at the latest. There are emergency vets out there too.

If you can't afford it, call around. Some vets will let you make payments, and some vets take Care Credit which is a credit card specifically for medical purposes. You can apply on-line, or at most veterinary offices. It has (literally) been a life saver around my house.

if she was just clipped, she could well just be cold. give her a sweater till her coat grows in a bit more. Also when were her nails clipped. She may have snagged a nail jumping on or off the bed, twisting her leg. You are going to continue to have problems if she still nips at you. you've let her become alpha and she's the boss. Get that back under control immediately or next thig we'll here is you had to have her put down because she is mean. i could go on , but if she's not better in the morning, take her to the vet. Good Luck

No this is not something that comes with 8 years of a dog's life. Take her to vet in the morning. Make her her old self again. Without reading your previous questions, because my answer may not change, call a 24hr vet hospital. The staff there may be better able to answer your questions. If you don't have one in your own city, I would do a search for any one that I can find... at least to ask the questions.

Take her to the vet Dogs are very good at hiding illness My 12 yr old American Eskimo has a few health problems such as arthritis and diabetes. He acts the same way as what your does when his arthritis is acting up My vet told me to try a couple of baby aspirin for a few days and if that didn't seem to help bring him in Sometime aspirin helps some times it don't I would at least call the vet for advise.

It is not normal, it sounds like the dog is trying to mask pain from you and not doing a great job. I would say, at the bare minimum call the vet for advise. However, if it was me i would have the dog in to see the vet first thing.

I have a vetiranary guide for animal owners and I was looking up some possibilities for you. If you accept contacts I will send the info to you. If not everyone will have to put up with my extended answer. Sorry. Hopefully what I send you can help you decide what to do.

Well in older dogs that tends to happen it could be authritus, you should take her in to get it checked out cause she is in pain. But it could be cause of the cold weather to, that happens to my dog alot but cause of the weather you might want to slowly move her legs , but not to much since she seems to bite alot. But do be on the safe side take her in....good luck
