I purchased a 6.1 (nikon d70s) and a canon printer (ip6700d). I am having problems printing a good quality 8.5

Well, you have an excellent printer, so as long as that's set up correctly, I'd agree with teef_au. Be sure that you are in the right mode with your camera. Press the QUAL button while you rotate the main command dial (on the rear of the camera) until "FINE" is set. Then press the QUAL button while you rotate the sub-command dial (on the front of the camera) until "L" is set.

If that doesn't help, have someone help check out your printer settings or come back here and ask. I don't know how the Canon printer works or I'd tell you now.

If you are using Photoshop or its cousins, be sure that you are saving the image in the highest resolution, also. It's an option during the "save" process.

I have a D70s and, as teef_au says, it produces wonderful 8x10 prints.

relies upon on what you desire to do and how some distance you what to pass into photos. in case you like entire flexibility then elect Canon. it rather is the lens selections and selection that could desire to dictate your selection between the two digicam lines. I merely went by using an entire diagnosis of the two lines and as a former Nikon action picture photographer, I went with Canon. Is your camera set to Large and Fine? Look through the menu. I have a D50 and I print the images myself and they are superb.
