Pablo Escobar was a major drug dealer who made a living of importing hard drugs to USA and else were. At his funeral he was brought to almost a saint like status. People consider him holy since he gave some of his dirty money to the faithful poor Christians.(many protested and clashed with the supporters of Escobar)

Bin Laden is hero to many Muslims. As a matter a fact he is almost holy in his actions. (people weren't dancing out of sadness on 9/11 in Palestine)

If these guys gain grounds why is it so hard to believe that all religions are corrupt power hungry cults?

It does seem like many religions are power orientated and cultish in their ideals.

Free-thought, without having to give up any personal power is a more realistic way to find a spiritual path.

Well that's an easy one....just look at the Christians in America, they not out doing all that.

You cant judge all by what some have done. That's like saying Hitler was evil and bad, so lets kill every man because they are all just like him

Anyway good question
Have a great New Year!

Escobar and Bin laden are not prophets or preachers. They are terrorists and drug king pins. I beleive in Christ. He did not kill or corrupt. He will return to defeat evil and he even flew up into the sky, like superman.

Gilgamesh! He almost achieved immortality, but lost out by being humane.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the great reads of all time, right up there with Homer and Herman Melville.

Billy Graham gets my vote.. no power trip there, except the power of the Holy Spirit.

Of course, JC and His band of brothers get top billing.
